  • ARRIVAL AT GUWAHATI AIRPORT - KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK
  • On Arrival at Guwahati Airport driver will pick you up after that proceed towards Kaziranga - a hub of one horned Rhinoceros also known as the place of many endangered species. On Reaching Check in to your hotel in Kaziranga and take rest. Explore Tea garden – Your evening is at leisure and you can sprawl amidst nature with your kids. In the later evening you can go to Kaziranga Sandhya an euphoric cultural extravaganza where different folk dances of Assam are shown including Bihu which is a famous traditional dance of Assamese people. Cherish the beginning of a wonderful holiday and revel in the scenic beauty of the jungle. After dinner, retreat to your room for a cozy overnight stay. Please note – Opening of the Kazirana by the Assam Government and as per past experience, it may open in October 1st week, however the exact date will be decided by Assam Government, initially Jeep safari gets open by 1st week of October and Elephant safari generally opens by 1st week of November.
  • KAZIRANGA SAFARI - SHILLONG VIA UMIAM LAKE
  • After breakfast, you can do Jeep Safari at any of the range (Central). Jeep safari and Elephant safari is available in Kaziranga and if you wish to do you can contact the hotel directly and it can be done on direct payment basis. Explore the wildlife of Kaziranga specially the pride of Assam, One horned Rhinoceros, Wild Buffalo, Hog Deer, Swamp deer, red headed bill and various flora and faunas. After that Return back to hotel , take rest and proceed towards Shillong en route covering some of the sightseeing. You could also take selfies and photo sessions.   • Today after breakfast get ready to Explore • Ward’s Lake is amongst the popular tourist attractions of Shillong which is a must-visit. It is also known as Pollock’s Lake (Nan Polok) because of a popular engineer during the per-independence era. It is said to be around a 100 years old. The establishment of this lake was planned by the then Chief Commissioner of Assam, Sir William Ward. Construction was done by Colonel Hopkins in the year 1894. • Elephant falls - Renamed as Elephant Falls by the British, who found it difficult to pronounce the local name, the waterfall is believed to have gotten its name from a huge elephant-shaped rock near it. The iconic Elephant Falls, which attract tourists in hordes to Shillong in Meghalaya, has now become an eyesore. The crystal clear water at the bottom of the falls, is now turning murky and smelly, thanks to pollution. Mawphlang Sacred Forest: Mawphlang Sacred Forest One of the most famous sacred forests is the Mawphlang Sacred Forest, about 25 kilometers from Shillong. Covering some 192 acres, the Mawphlang Sacred Forest, nestled in the East Khasi Hills near Mawphlang village, has its roots steeped deep in the age-old religious beliefs, in which forests are regarded as a sacred entity. Be dazzled by the beauty of this scenic force as you cherish this rare moment. • Seven Sisters Falls: Located south of the Mawsmai village, the Seven Sisters Falls is a vibrant spectacle. The fall at a height of 1033 feet plunges over the top of limestone cliffs of the Khasi Hills, but only during the rainy season. • Mawsmai cave : A major northeast tourist attraction, the Mawsmai cave is flocked by tourists throughout the year. Visit these surreal limestone constructions for a holistic holiday experience. • Arwah cave: The Arwah Cave in Cherrapunjee is a magnificent spot for all nature lovers. One can spot a diverse range of flora and fauna amidst these limestone stacks. • Mawkdok Dympep Valley View / Duwan Sing Syiem Bridge: located at the very start of Sohra tourist circuit, is one of the most prominent attractions of the place. The history is that Mata Sati took her own life by jumping in the Yagya which was performed by her father in which he didn’t invite Lord Shiva (Mata Sati’s spouse) knowingly. This leads to Lord Shiva to take Mata Sati’s corpse and roaming in pain. On seeing this, Lord Vishnu cut Mata Sati’s corpse into 52 pieces using his Sudarshan chakra, which formed 52 shakti peeths. It is believed that “Yoni” of Mata Sati fell on the place, where the Kamakhya Temple is situated today. Here are some facts about the Kamakhya Temple • The temple has three chambers: • Western chamber is rectangular shaped and is not open for the devotees. • The middle chamber is square shaped, with an idol of the Goddess. • The middle chamber leads to the holy Garbha Grihya, the most important part is 20 feet under the ground in a small cave, there is no idol but a small “Yoni” shaped kund where one can see water coming out of it. This kund is always covered with red cloth and flowers. • In the month of June, every year, the divinity bleeds and the water of Bhramputra river turns red in color. It is strange until this date that there is no scientific reason of this. • Although the temple is open 365 days a year, except for 3 days (In the month of June on the occasion of Ambubachi Mela). • Temple opens daily from 0800 hrs to 1300 hrs and from 1430 hrs to 1730 hrs • VIP darshan facility is available at the counter. • The dress code is formal as in other Hindu Temples. Devotees can enter the temple without covering the head but your shoulders and legs is a must be covered.
