DAY WISE TOUR ITINERARY

  • ARRIVAL AT GUWAHATI AIRPORT - SHILLONG
  • On arrival at Guwahati airport our driver will pick you up from the airport and proceed to Shillong. On the way to shillong you will visit Umiam lake - Umiam lake is the “biggest artificial” lake in the state of Meghalaya. Also known as “Barapani Lake”. Umiam Lake is a reservoir in the hills 15 km north of Shillong in the state of Meghalaya, India. It was created by damming the Umiam River in the early 1960s. The principal catchment area of the lake and dam is spread over 225 square km. Here you can do boating. After that proceed to Visit Wards lake - Ward’s Lake is an artificial lake with a beautiful garden and boating facilities. It was built during clonical era. Locally known as Non Polok. Ward's Lake, locally known as Pollock Lake or Nan Polok, is an artificial lake in Shillong, Meghalaya, India. Located in the centre of the city, it is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Shillong. overnight Stay at Shillong.
  • SHILLONG - LAITLUM CANYON - KRANG SURI WATERFALL- SHILLONG
  • After having breakfast, Today, you will visit - Laitlum Canyon - Laitlum means “end of hills” and this is actually true here just like it’s name. You can see the breathtaking gorges and lush valley, there is no place in India like this where the air is at it’s freshest. and Jowai Krang suri fall - Krang suri waterfall is one of the most stunning natural attractions in India. Krang Shuri is fast becoming a favourite hot-spot owing to its elegant fall topped with turquoise green waters lagoon below. A swimmers paradise as the fall is not violent and the lagoon is not too deep. The water too is not very cold either. Wearing a life jacket is mandatory while entering the lagoon for swimming. The walk down to the falls is also light and easy. It took us 15 minutes downstairs and 20 minutes upstairs. You do get to see the falls from far off distance within the first 4 minutes of walk. In case of any elders who cannot walk down completely, they can have a clear cut glimpse of the falls with the 1st 300 meters of the walk downstairs.   • SHILLONG - MAWLYNNONG VILLAGE - DAWKI RIVER - SINGLE DECKER ROOT BRIDGE - CHERRAPUNJEE
  • After breakfast Check-out from the Shillong hotel, and proceed to explore Mawlynnong Village- Mawlynnong is a village in the East Khasi Hills district of the Meghalaya state in North East India. It is known for its cleanliness and also known as Asia's cleanest village.Timing: Can visit anytime after 10:00 am. the cleanest village in Asia. Dawki River - You can visit the Dawki Bridge over the Umngot River. It is a hanging bridge. You can have a panorama view from the bridge. This view is famous for its crystal clear clean. Now visit Single Decker Living Root Bridge - Right at the midway while going downhill, you’ll get a different path, indicating the route towards Single Decker Living Root Bridge.Single decker root bridge can be reached by a trekking a path that starts from village Riwai. This small village is very close to Mawlynnong, after completing the sightseeing travel to Cherrapunjee for overnight stay.
  • DOUBLE DECKER LIVING ROOT BRIDGE ( FULL DAY TREKKING ) - RAINBOW FALL
  • After having breakfast, today you will do Double Decker Living Root Bridge - living root bridge in Meghalya, India. It can be reached via trekking 45 km from Cherapunji. The trek is 6500 steps. There is also a waterfall nearby. Due to tourism, the health of the root bridge has degraded. Meghalaya presented the root bridge at its 70th Republic Day ceremony. A replica of the bridge has been made in Nangrighat in Cherrapunji to present the Khansi and Jaintia people's craft of building bridges from the secondary roots of trees. These living bridges are grown from a special type of rubber tree. As the roots grow, so the strength of the bridge increases. The root bridges are honoured as the Tajmahal of Meghalaya. They take around 25 years to grow and operate, but can carry the weight of 50 people and go on functioning for 500 years. After a trek of 1 more hour you can visitRainbow Fall - More than 3000 steps to climb down and then forest trail will take u at the Waterfall. Very beautiful waterfall and clean water. You can see Rainbow at multiple position hence it is know as Rainbow Waterfall. Come back to the hotel and stay overnight at Cherrapinjee.

Seven Sister Waterfall - Seven Sisters Falls: Located south of the Mawsmai village, the Seven Sisters Falls is a vibrant spectacle. The fall at a height of 1033 feet plunges over the top of limestone cliffs of the Khasi Hills, but only during the rainy season. Nohkalikai Fall - Nohkalikai Falls: At a height of 1115 feet, the Nohkalikai falls are the tallest plunge waterfall in India. Be dazzled by the beauty of this scenic force as you cherish this rare moment. On the way to Guwahati you will visit Macdock Peak Valley - Mawkdok Dympep Valley Viewpoint, The best way to enjoy the panoramic views of the Mawkdok Dympep Valley is by standing at the Duwan Sing Syiem Bridge.   • After breakfast, check out from Guwahati hotel and get ready to visit Kamakhya Temple - The Kamakhya Temple is a Shaktipeeth belonging to Goddess Kamakhya (the tantric form of Goddess Durga), situated at Nilanchal Mountains. Kamakhya Devi is also referred to as the “Bleeding Goddess”. The history is that Mata Sati took her own life by jumping in the Yagya which was performed by her father in which he didn’t invite Lord Shiva (Mata Sati’s spouse) knowingly. This leads to Lord Shiva to take Mata Sati’s corpse and roaming in pain. On seeing this, Lord Vishnu cut Mata Sati’s corpse into 52 pieces using his Sudarshan chakra, which formed 52 shakti peeths. It is believed that “Yoni” of Mata Sati fell on the place, where the Kamakhya Temple is situated today. Here are some facts about the Kamakhya Temple. The temple has three chambers: Western chamber is rectangular shaped and is not open for the devotees. The middle chamber is square shaped, with an idol of the Goddess. The middle chamber leads to the holy Garbha Grihya, the most important part is 20 feet under the ground in a small cave, there is no idol but a small “Yoni” shaped kund where one can see water coming out of it. This kund is always covered with red cloth and flowers. In the month of June, every year, the divinity bleeds and the water of Bhramputra river turns red in color. It is strange until this date that there is no scientific reason of this. Although the temple is open 365 days a year, except for 3 days (In the month of June on the occasion of Ambubachi Mela). Temple opens daily from 0800 hrs to 1300 hrs and from 1430 hrs to 1730 hrs VIP darshan facility is available at the counter. The dress code is formal as in other Hindu Temples. Devotees can enter the temple without covering the head but your shoulders and legs is a must be covered. Then you will visit Umananda Temple - Umananda Devaloi is a Shiva temple located at the Peacock Island in the middle of river Brahmaputra. It was built by the Ahom King Gadadhar Singha (1681–1696), who was a devout Shaivaite. It is known as smallest inhabited Riverine Island in the world. Country boats that are available on the bank of Brahmaputra take the visitors to the island. The mountain on which the temple has been built is known as Bhasmacala.
